How to Start Your Own Radio Business

Business Builders

Come on in! Store Displays.  Displays in your shop windows and within your shop are very important to your promotional program.
Test Bench.  The work bench should be equipped with a vise and drawers for tools.  Shelves above the work bench should be provided to store the more frequently used spare parts, with containers for nuts, bolts, screws, washers, etc.   Soldering and practically all repairs should be made on the work bench.

Small test bench

If you should find it desirable to build a small work bench, there is no reason why you should not do so if you have room for it.  Here are some general instructions which you might find useful.  The work bench should be from about 34 to 40 inches high, depending on your height.  Its width may vary from 18 to 30 inches, and it may be as long as you want for you can always use added space.  At least a portion of the front of your work bench should be open to allow room for your feet.
Service Car or Truck.  The sides and in many instances the back should describe the nature of your business, carry your name, address, telephone number and if there is room, a slogan.  Here's one: "Music wherever you go!  Auto radios a specialty at Ralph's Radio Shop!"

Radio Attic's "Archives" are presented just for fun by Friendly Webmaster.
None of the radios in the Archives is for sale!

When cabinet material or color differences are apparent in donated photos, I have included additional photos of certain model numbers.  Due to time constraints, I must rely entirely on the accuracy of information supplied by contributors with their photographs.  As such, no guarantee is made that the model numbers presented here are correct.

Please do not download these images for any commercial purpose.  Thank you.
